SHOW INTRODUCTION As I was driving down the freeway recently on a beautiful sunny day, I mused about the fact that, except for the occasional yellow ribbon bumper sticker, it was easy to forget that at the same moment in Iraq, people are being harmed. Many people I talk to are concerned about health, the environment, animals, but they find politics too depressing. So they describe themselves as apolitical. After viewing the film "Beyond Treason: What Causes Gulf War Syndrome?" I'm convinced that nobody can afford to be apolitical. No longer a problem for only veterans returning from the Middle East, exposure to depleted uranium from weapons is also making families of veterans sick, it's causing Iraqi infants to be born dead or deformed, and its drift is destroying the environment across the entire planet...for the next 4.5 billion years. This is not a problem of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. This is a muddle of biological and radioactive agents causing symptoms you couldn't make up.
