SHOW INTRODUCTION Thyroid disorders or low thyroid function is often the last place a physician looks when a patient fails to thrive. Odd, since replacing thyroid hormone is usually inexpensive and its addition has profound effects on everything else. Since the thyroid gland is responsible for producing a hormone that conducts and maintains metabolism, the function of all other hormones are effected when its out of balance. Additionally, mood, the health of the gut, tempter regulation, the heart and circulatory system are all under its spell. Why is it then so hard for patients to get their thyroids thoroughly worked up whenever they are suffering from depression, cold, low immunity, constipation, reflux, IBS, dry skin and hair and e ven hair loss? Today I will be teaching you about your thyroid, including what usually goes wrong with it and why, what tests should be run, and considerations for choosing a thyroid hormone replacement product.
