SHOW INTRODUCTION People come to see me when they can't figure out why they feel poorly. The first things I look at are: how they're eating, their sensitivities, possible family history considerations and vulnerabilities, AND what they're exposed to at home and work. An old friend of mine who listens to my show online from the East Coast asked me why, for instance, should she be worried about her drinking water? I've learned that people are affected by things they don't expect to be and the accumulated exposures do lead to avoidable illnesses. Certainly the goal of health education isn't to scare you into becoming obsessive about your world so that it's no longer pleasurable but if there are things you can do to protect yourself won't you want the choice? Today we will be talking about what constitutes a healthy indoor environment in the context of a healthy home inspection. I'm joined by Jeffry Fawcett PhD an environmental economist, writer and health educator who works with individuals and does healthy home inspections. He co-produces this radio show and is the editor of the Progressive Health Observer: A News Commentary Alternative To Big Box Medicine.
