SHOW INTRODUCTION Have you ever thought about why you go to a doctor? Do you actually know what you're going FOR? Most people go because they're told they're supposed to, that preventative care involves being checked out periodically to make sure you're not sick. But is that really what you're getting. Don't you KNOW when you're sick? I think most people go to the doctor because they're scared. And, it's worth considering before going, whether a doctor is the right person to see when you're scared. Modern medicine has a complex hierarchy that puts pressure on doctors to do things according to the "standard of care". That's a term for the current orthodoxy that dictates what's to be done, more to you then for you. In most cases it's the same for everyone and not individualized, and it's based on symptoms which increasingly means disease to doctors. Doctors aren't bad people but the forces that are working on them aren't alturistic. Today's guest, Dr. Oleg Reznik, is a physican who believes in minimal to no intervention, even though it isn't ”standard of care.” Stay tuned for a discussion about medical decision making.
