SHOW INTRODUCTION Soy is promoted as the ultimate health food, although without extensive cooking and processing the soy bean is poisonous. Although the FDA has approved a heart healthy claim for soy protein, it also lists soy in it's "Poisonous Plant Database" with reference studies that warn about goiter, growth problems, amino acid deficiencies, mineral malabsorption, endocrine disruption and carcinogenesis. Soy protein isolate, which is added to most processed food products, was originally developed to be used safely only as a binder and sealer for cardboard boxes. But investigators were concerned about the leaching of the carcinogen nitrosamine and the toxin lysinoalanine from the soy into the food contents. Soy is a darling of the food industry. It's protected by big food interests which control the information the consumer sees about it's health effects. Why? Because it's hugely profitable. If you're a moral vegetarian or environmentalist, stay tuned. You're being manipulated by sinister market influences.
